Why we love porches so much?

Since I was a little, I spent so many beautiful moments on my grandmas porch. Porch just reminds me of my childhood; making showman in the winter and hiding on my swing during summer months. I think that’s why I associate porches with happy and carefree times.

Beautiful morning sun captured on a dreamy porch

Porches offer a great way to extend your living space without having to spend a lot of money. They're also the perfect place to relax or entertain guests and have your pets relax without having to bathe them immediately after coming from mud LOL!

Real situation :)

And, if you have a porch, you can enjoy the outdoors even when the weather isn't cooperating. It enables you to have exterior / interior connection and a spacial place to decorate your interior. Interior designers often suggests that interior design should reflect exterior.

Kitchen near porch: A Clever Idea!

When you have guests over, wouldn’t it be great to be able to serve them without having to leave the party? Well, if you have a kitchen near your porch, you can do just that! This is a great way to entertain guests and make sure that they have everything they need.

Kitchen Design Interior + windows on front and right side

A logical thing for me when I created my designer's adjacency bubble was to place the kitchen near porch and divide it by huge window. That way, I don't have to go through doors, but rather hand everything over through windows.

In order to define the kitchen space, I decided to put tiles all around and make alike a tile - box for kitchen. That way it would be easily to clean and have more of a "kitchen feel". I

wanted my Tiny Home to function well, but also look great, so this was a perfect solution.

White cabinets with terrazzo counter top are such a clash of classic and modern feel - something you would not expect in this tiny home. But that's what makes it unique and one of a kind.

Open wooden shelves for spices and decor items above the sink and green subway tiles as a back splash finish this kitchen with a perfect touch.

And that's how I managed to create my dream tiny kitchen on a budget!

Adding an LED lights under the wooden shelves is always a great idea to create a modern ambience in the kitchen.

For this particular stove I did not put hood as it is so close to the windows. And I love how it turned out! What do you think?

The bathroom: Tiny but Mighty

Even though this Tiny Home is small, it still includes a full bathroom. The bathroom features:

  1. a shower

  2. toilet

  3. sink

  4. plenty of storage space

This is perfect for those who want to downsize but still have all the amenities of a larger home.

I've decided to use same kind of terrazzo tile in the shower to unify interior design of this tiny house. White walls and white square tiles on the walls with black grout make this bathroom chic and modern.

To save money, I've used tiles only up t the window height. That way I didn't have to buy too much tile and also it gives an illusion of taller space as I continue with white paint.

Sink cabinet is mint green which a completely hit for the past few years in interior design world.

I've put a small, but unique bathroom mirror with storage above the sink to make this space feel bigger.

The toilet is located in a small nook, which makes it perfect for those who want to have privacy while they use the bathroom. This is also a great way to save space in a small home. The shower also has a small illuminated hole with orange tiles used for personal hygiene products.

Black is my signature accent color for many years and this time I've used it for shower, faucet and small details in the bathroom.

Living room with Gothic Fireplace

The living room is one of the most important rooms in a home. It's where you relax, entertain guests, and spend time with your family. That's why I wanted to make sure that my living room was both beautiful and functional + element of surprise.

I decided to go with a Gothic fireplace (totally unexpected design element) because it adds a touch of magic and mystery to the space. The fireplace is also a great way to keep the living room warm during the colder months.

I placed a comfortable sofa in front of the fireplace so that I could relax and watch TV or read a book. I also added a coffee table and two chairs so that I could entertain guests. Sofa can also be an extra bed in case I have guests. It also serves as a storage unit too.

The living room is decorated with unique wall plaster technique, unique carpet, and a chandelier. I wanted the space to be both cozy and stylish.

Do you like my living room? What would you change about it?

Comfortable Bedroom For Two

The bedroom is one of the most important rooms in a home, so it's important to make sure that it is comfortable and functional. This tiny home has a comfortable bedroom for two people. The bed is located in the middle of the room, so there is plenty of space for both people to sleep comfortably.

There are also nightstands on either side of the bed, so each person has a place to put their belongings. Over each nightstand there is a plant pendant light.

This bedroom also has two windows for passive ventilation and daylight. Glass divider between living room and bedroom is there for a purpose.

It will be very romantic atmosphere when the fireplace is on and you two are in bed. Fire reflection with bounce of the glass and create a beautiful cozy space.

The walls are white with large half circle that imitates the headboard (had to save the money here too!) , so the room feels bright and airy. The floor is made of wood looking ceramic, so it is both beautiful and durable.

To sumarize:

50 Sqm / 538 sqft Tiny Home with Porch has:

  1. beautiful and fully functional kitchen

  2. living room with fire place

  3. one bedroom

  4. full bathroom

  5. a porch
